Pens didn't play fast against us, and it allowed pylons like Orpik to be effective.

I think the Caps control the cycle and the puck waaaaay more when the pace is fairly pedestrian.

Tampa has been unreal on the forecheck for the duration of these playoffs and they have tightened things up defensively as well. I think Tampa should play the pace that they have been playing while eliminating the time and space for the caps. All easier said than done but this is what has propelled them thus far. Don't overthink it.

Tampa has been unreal on the forecheck for the duration of these playoffs and they have tightened things up defensively as well. I think Tampa should play the pace that they have been playing while eliminating the time and space for the caps. All easier said than done but this is what has propelled them thus far. Don't overthink it.

forechecking, eliminating time and space, breaking out, all completed successfully by using speed. this team is built to play fast paced hockey and wear teams out on the cycle with relentless forechecking. I want to see a flying lightning squad tonight.

We need to continue what has been successful in every other series, relentless forecheck, battling for every lose puck and hard fought board play. This team has a new found understanding of playoff hockey (I.E. New found Physicality) and if they continue to play like they did in the last 4 games against boston they have a great chance at beating any of the remain teams.

I didn't get to watch the game but that's what happened at beginning of last series and we ended up winning the next 4.

Deja Vu Game time is 8:15 not 9:45 boys. Great play for their second goal Wow 3 sec. Caps played like it was a conference final. Time to get their act together quickly or golf. Yes I know last series result but that was the last series.

That game was over the minute they called back Kucherov's goal for 28 men on the ice and the Caps scored on the resulting PP. Over. You could feel the wind come out of the sails.

The Lightning have answered well after a setback thus far, so they cannot let the Caps take both games here. Looks like a split if the Bolts are serious about seeing the Finals again.

Well Kuch was the extra man on the ice. That was a killer but a great face off play, the rebounds and chip ins hurt especially the OV miss on the one timer and resulting fake out. No time to think about it there’s a game every other day.
